Who we are
Controller: Chorebid
Contact: chore.bid1210@gmail.com
What we collect
- Account information: parent and child display names, parent email address.
- Chore and activity data: chores you create, rewards, deadlines, status/progress (claimed/complete/verified/paid), and timestamps.
- Identifiers for notifications: a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token to deliver push notifications.
- Device & app info (limited): basic technical details (e.g., app version) required to run core features and messaging.
- Camera (QR scanning only): when you join a family via QR code, the camera is used solely to read the code. No photos or videos are captured, saved, or uploaded.
How we use information
- To create and manage accounts and families.
- To assign, track, and display chore status within a family.
- To link a user to a family via QR code scanning.
- To send optional push notifications (e.g., updates on chores).
- To maintain the security and reliability of the App.
Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
- Contract: providing the App’s core features.
- Legitimate interests: security, preventing misuse, and sending essential service messages.
- Consent: optional push notifications (you can disable in device settings).
Sharing
- Within your family: chore data and names are visible to members of the linked family group.
- Service providers: we use Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging) to operate the App and deliver notifications.
- We do not sell personal information.
Third-party services
- Google / Firebase: Firebase Privacy & Security, Google Privacy Policy
Data retention
We retain account and family data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal data unless we need to keep it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. See Delete your account for details on what is deleted and any retention periods.
Children’s privacy
Chorebid is designed for family use. A parent or legal guardian must create the family and can create/link child profiles. We do not knowingly allow a child to create an independent account. Parents can review or delete child information by contacting us at chore.bid1210@gmail.com.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards and Firebase security rules to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices & rights
- Access, update, delete: contact us to exercise your rights or use in-app options where available. For account deletion, see Delete your account.
- Notifications: you can disable push notifications in your device settings.
- EEA/UK: you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing and data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

We may process and store data on servers operated by our service providers (e.g., Google Firebase), which can be located outside your country. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required by law.
